Fishers Mentoring

Fishers Mentoring

Your mentor will listen, pray and journey with you. Mentoring occurs every 6-8 weeks, and it is an opportunity to raise topics of your choosing. Alongside, you both will read Henri Nouwen's book, Spiritual Direction and discuss how we relate to Christ.

From the back cover...

Henri Nouwen, beloved author, priest, and work-famous counsellor and guide, understood the spiritual life as a journey of faith and transformation that is deepened by accountability, community, and relationships. Though he counselled many people during his lifetime, his principles of spiritual direction were never written down. Now two of his longtime students, Michael Christensen and Rebecca Laird, have taken his famous course in spiritual direction and supplemented it with his unpublished writings to create the definitive work on Nouwen's thoughts about the Christian life.

HENRI NOUWEN (1932-1996) is the author of With Open Hands, Reaching Out, The Wounded Heaker, Making All Things New and many other spiritual classics. He taught psychology and pastoral theology at Notre Dame, Yale and Harvard universities before becoming senior pastor of L'Arche Daybreak in Toronto, Canada, a community where men and women with mental disabilities and their assistants create a home for one another.
